Oct 3, 2012 - The Associated PressSHERIDAN -- Sheridan County Republicans have selected two nominees to fill a vacant state House seat.
The precinct committee members nominated Kathy Coleman and Peter Schoonmaker for the state House District 30 seat left vacant by the early departure of Republican Rep. Jon Botten, of Banner.
The names of the two nominees will be forwarded on to the Sheridan County Commission for consideration. The commission will appoint one of the two to fill the seat.
Botten announced earlier this year he would not seek re-election and later offered his resignation, which became effective last month.
Coleman already is the Republican nominee for the seat in the upcoming election after having won the Aug. 21 primary.
