Oct 3, 2012 - StaffShannon Brockie died Monday, Sept. 27, 2012, in Riverton.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook, Mont. A reception will follow to celebrate her life at the Eagles Club in Chinook, Mont.
She was born in Havre, Mont., to Dolores and Sheldon Blatt and grew up in Chinook, Mont.
She lived in many places through the years, but her most memorable home was in Hays, Mont., where she raised her family.
Her many accomplishments include graduating from Chinook High School, earning an associate degree in general business from Fort Belknap College and many additional certifications for various business and accounting classes.
Her family said she mostly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was an avid reader. She also spent time fishing, camping, gardening and riding horses. She was also a crawdad hunter when time allowed.
She is survived by her husband of many years, James Brockie of Hays, Mont.; children Nathan Zahn of Cheyenne, Charley and Shilo Brockie of Malta, Mont., Dee and DJ Brockie of Riverton, and Jesse Brockie of Riverton; grandchildren Dakota Zahn, Kamber Brockie, Hailey Brockie and Chiara Littleshield; foster children Mike Daniels, William Burke, Elena Burke and Steward Pepion; brothers Tim Gardipee of Missoula, Mont., and Don Blatt of Great Falls, Mont.; sisters Peggy Gardipee of Chinook, Mont., and Susan Johnson of Helena, Mont.; beloved friends Jim Neely, Cindy Brough, Bobbi Hepner, Ken Brown, Michelle Lewis and many others; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Blatt; father Sheldon Blatt; aunt Pat Lankford; lifelong friends Peggy Heppner and Judy Gray.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's local library.
