Carol Rae Stamm, of Lander, died of natural causes Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, in Lovell.
Services were Friday, Sept. 7, in Lovell and Lander, and the burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
Carol Rae Stamm was born 1949 in Hot Springs, S.D., to Nels Albert Hagen and Evelyn Hettrick Hagen.
She spent her childhood in Lander growing up with the help of her grandfather Clyde Rowe and later her stepfather, Glen Corbett, who added brothers Carl and Bruce to her life.
She had two children in her teenage years who were placed for adoption. She was later happy to meet her daughter Lisa and enjoy a relationship with her.
She met Joseph Stamm while working in a cafe in Casper. They were married in 1974 in Lovell. They enjoyed many years together, living first in Casper then Worland, SLC and finally settling in Lander.
Carol spent three years in Colorado with her stepdaughter, Carrie Joe, and Dave Williams and their children, Michael, Stephanie and Jeremy, before moving to Lovell to the home of Gerry and RoseMae Tippetts where she resided until a few weeks before her passing.
Her family said she worked a variety of jobs, but being a homemaker was her favorite. She helped raise her husband's two children and cared for her Grandpa Rowe. She spent many seasons helping with the One Shot Antelope Hunt and was breakfast hostess to many famous hunters and dignitaries.
Her family said she loved to bowl and attended nationals in many different cities. She loved bingo, cards, camping, her many little dogs and genealogy. Her family said she was caring and generous and brought joy and love to all she met.
She is survived by her sister, Theo Mae and her husband Dennis Powers; nephew Scott and his wife Ellen Powers; niece Brook and her husband Shaun Waters; stepdaughter Carrie Joe and her husband Dave Williams; grandchildren Michael and his wife Adrian, Stephanie and Jeremy Williams; six great-granddaughters; sister-in-law Rosemae and her husband Gerry Tippetts; brothers in law Ron and his wife Marianne and Leonard and his wife Linda Stamm; stepbrother Bruce and his wife Linda Corbett; nieces Jody and her husband Van Crain, Jill Stark and Jessica Corbett; nephew Jay Corbett; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; stepson Joseph Troy Stamm; grandfather Clyde Rowe; and stepbrother Carl Corbett.
