Smithbaker to speak Sunday at Neighborhood Alliance Church

Oct 5, 2012 - Staff

John Smithbaker, founder of the nonprofit Fathers in the Field, will speak Sunday at Riverton's Neighborhood Alliance Church.

Once the CEO of Riverton-based Brunton Outdoor Group, Smithbaker resigned this year to work full time for Fathers in the Field. The non-denominational Christian organization pairs fatherless boys with mentors.

"We've chosen to partner with them and provide men for these fatherless boys using the outdoor venue," NAC associate pastor Mike McNeill said. "We have a lot of outdoorsmen here."

He invited members of the community to come hear Smithbaker's story about the formation of Fathers in the Field. Smithbaker will speak during the 10 a.m. Sunday service at NAC, 4440 Riverview Road.
