Shirley Asay, 79, of Riverton, died Friday, Feb. 24, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at the St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Riverton with the Rev. Father Killian officiating. Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.
Carrie J. McDowell, 51, of rural Riverton, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Morning Star Manor in Fort Washakie. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Riverton Animal Shelter/PAWS. Online condolences may be made at www.theDavisFuneralHome.com.
Former Riverton resident Wayne G. "Duke" Richey, 80, of Sisters, Oregon, died on Monday, Feb. 20. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. Longtime Riverton resident June Riley-Beckwith, 92, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012. Memorial services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at St. James Episcopal Church in Riverton.

- Jason Moon, 36, of Ethete, was arrested for public intoxication.
- William Topaum, 34, of Ethete, was arrested on municipal court warrants.
- Steven Amos, 40, of Ethete, was arrested for public intoxication.
- Jess Walthers, 23, of Riverton, was arrested on a municipal court warrant.
- Alfred Redman, 36, of Ethete, was arrested for public intoxication.
- James Oldman, 47, of Ethete, was arrested on a municipal court warrant.
- Jeramie Lewis, 26, of Riverton, was arrested on a Fremont County warrant and on a felony warrant out of California.
In Fremont County Sheriff's reports from Thursday to Friday morning:
- Amber Donovan, 27, of Riverton, was arrested for failure to appear.
- Terence Hanway, 22, of Lander, was arrested for drug court violation.
- During the same time period, ambulance crews responded to 17 calls for assistance and firefighters were dispatched four times.
