BLM lifts fire bans in areas of WyomingOct 12, 2012 - The Associated Press PINEDALE -- The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is lifting fire restrictions in some areas of western Wyoming beginning at midnight Friday. The agency announced that its High Desert District is lifting fire restrictions implemented by the Kemmerer, Pinedale and Rock Springs field offices within Fremont, Lincoln, Sublette and Uinta counties. The restrictions have been in place since June, when dry conditions raised the danger of fire. Recent cooler temperatures and increased moisture have helped improve conditions. The restrictions had prohibited campfires, smoking and running chain saws as well as welders or other torches. |
