Wolverines drill Rock Springs on v-ball court

You've seen the back of the shampoo bottle where the directions say lather, rinse, repeat.
The Riverton volleyball team will work to repeat Friday night's win over Rock Springs in five sets (24-26, 25-14, 13-25, 25-15, 15-12) when they have to travel back to Rock Springs on Friday and again battle the Tigers in the first round of the Class 4-A West regional volleyball tournament.
Same team, same floor, and hopefully for RHS, the same result. Tournament game time is set for 11 a.m. Friday, according to RHS head coach Adrian McNamee.
Friday's win over Rock Springs solidifies Riverton as the third seed in the West behind Evanston and Casper Kelly Walsh and ahead of Green River, Casper Natrona and Rock Springs.
It's the fourth time in five seasons that a McNamee coached team will have to open a regional tournament against the host team.
"We have to play with more confidence," McNamee said. "When we mess up, we can let it affect future points. We need to play as a team, and if we do that, we can dig ourselves out of holes."
She said Bree Olson played the match with an injured elbow.
"She was kind of hesitant, but ended up passing and playing well," McNamee said.
The Wolverines will need to finish in the top four of the tournament by winning at least two games to advance to the state tournament Oct. 25-27 in Casper.
Although Riverton swept both Green River and Casper Natrona during Class 4-A West conference play, the Wolverines split with Rock Springs, the road team prevailing in both matches.
Despite those results -- had Riverton lost they may have been scheduled to play Rock Springs again in the first tournament round -- McNamee was happy with Friday's win.
"I would rather head into regional with a win than a loss," McNamee said.
