1 percent tax might or might not be used as described

It is interesting on all the talk (Ranger, Oct. 18), about the proposed 1 percent sales tax being used for streets and road repairs in county and Riverton versus a special-use tax. Per our mayor, a special-use tax for streets could not be used to fund other, unforeseen, needs. So I guess the 1 percent sales tax is just that -- another tax for the general fund that may be used for streets, and then again, maybe not.
