Eugene L. Webster

Former Hudson pastor Eugene L. "Yogi" Webster of Follett, Tex., died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012. He was 84.

Memorial services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Central Assembly of God Church in Enid, Okla. Cremation will take place. Inurnment is at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Fairmont Cemetery in Follett, Texas.

Eugene Lee Webster was born Jan. 21, 1928, to David Orfa and Ethel (Skidmore) Webster southeast of Dacoma, Okla. He was graduated from Carmen-Dacoma High School, and attended Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Okmulgee Tech in Oklahoma, and Bible College in Baxter Springs, Kan.

He was the pastor of Hudson Community Church in Hudson for 34 years.

Mr. Webster was an active member of the 45th (Thunderbird) Infantry Division during the Korean War.

On July 11, 1954, he married Lucy Payne in Enid, Okla. They pastored churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

He is survived by wife Lucy of the family home in Follett, Texas; two sons, Justin of Enid, Okla., and Glen of Pauls Valley, Okla.; two daughters Pat Rose and husband Rich of Fairfield, Iowa, and Dora Crook and husband Rodger of Follett, Texas; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Virginia Green and husband Floyd of Enid, Okla.; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bob, S.J., and Paul Dean; a sister, Juanita Graham; son Leon, and daughter-in-law Robyn.
