A son was born to Holly and Ed Newbold, of Lander, at 12:48 a.m. Sept. 20, 2012, at Lander Regional Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces.


A daughter was born to Shantell and Joshua Nottingham, of RIverton, at 4:48 p.m. Sept. 12, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces.


A son was born to Stephanie and Reese Peterson, of Riverton, at 4:16 p.m. Sept. 14, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces.


A son was born to Marissa and Ryan Selvig, of Riverton, at 2:22 p.m. Sept. 7, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces.



Robert "Bobby Joe" Goggles, 73, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Lander Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at the Blue Sky Hall. A visitation and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Blue Sky Hall. Burial will be in the Yellow Calf Cemetery under the direction of the Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander.


Robert "Bob" E. Thrailkill, 81, of Riverton, died Friday, Sept. 14, in Casper. A memorial service was Oct. 20 in Mesa, Ariz.

Halloween Party is at the Lander Bar, 126 Main St., Lander. John Kirlin and the High Plains Drifters will keep everyone dancing in their scariest, sexiest or funniest costumes.

Fremont County Voiture Nurses Scholarship Benefit Breakfast is 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the VFW Hall, 409 W. Main St., Riverton. Tickets for adults are $5 and children under 12 are $2.50. Proceeds go to a scholarship fund for Central Wyoming College nursing students.

CWC Rustler Basketball Camp is at 9 a.m. at the Central Wyoming College gymnasium, Riverton. Join CWC basketball coach Curtis Condie and the Rustler players for a dynamic morning of skills and drills. Grades K-5 will play 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Grades 6-8 will play 10:30 a.m. to noon. Holiday Gift Shopping is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Margaret's Gym, 220 N. East St., Riverton. Girl Scout Troop 1005 is hosting an event to raise money for its educational tour to Europe in June 2013. Tables are provided for $30 each, which includes chairs. Vendors are encouraged to bring their own table cloths, extension cords, etc. Setup is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. or at 7 a.m. Oct. 27. Forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce office.

Halloween Trail of Terror, presented by CWC student activities and the CWC theater department, is 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre parking lot at Central Wyoming College, Riverton. Tours begin every 20 minutes. CWC invites everyone to take a little guided tour around the campus. Do you dare? It's night, it's Halloween, and there are goblins on the grounds, specters in the shrubs, wraiths on the sidewalks and chills around every corner. Scary fun for the whole family. Admission is free though donations will be appreciated.

Shoshoni Recreation District Haunted House is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the basement of the senior center, 209 Main St., Shoshoni. Tickets are $3 or $2 with a canned good. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

2012 Halloween Bash is 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Riverton Holiday Inn, 900 E. Sunset Drive. Entry fee is $3. Event includes giveaways and raffles, drawings and a costume contest. Must be at least 21 to attend.

Emergency calls

In Fremont County Sheriff's Office reports Wednesday to Thursday morning:

- Leslie Noseep, 40, of Fort Washakie, was arrested for driving under the influence, no insurance, speeding and no valid driver's license at about 2:15 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Hill and West Main streets in Riverton.

- Michael Starks, 47, of Riverton, was arrested for domestic violence battery simple assault at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Minter Lane in Riverton.

In Riverton Police Department reports Wednesday to Thursday morning:

- Joshua Hocking, 23, of Riverton, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 3000 block of College Hill Drive.

- Houston Headley, 44, of Arapahoe, was arrested for public intoxication and urinating in public at about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of East Fremont Avenue. With him was Derrald Antelope, 49, of Ethete, who was arrested for public intoxication.

- Bryce Groves, 25, of Riverton, was arrested on a warrant out of Campbell County at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Webbwood Road.

- Chelsey Miller, 19, of Arapahoe, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at about 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at Walmart. With her was Sheila Buffalomeat, 40, of Arapahoe, who was issued a citation for shoplifting.

- Derek Chavez, 29, of Riverton, was arrested for contempt of court at about 7:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of East Park Avenue.
