Darlene O. Sherek, of Riverton, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. She was 64 years old.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Vernon Boehlke will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Odalen Lutheran Church County Cemetery in the family plot near Edinburg, N.D.

Darlene Olivia Rustan was born Dec. 30, 1947, to Vernon and Stella (Bjerke) Rustan in Grafton, N.D. She graduated from high school in Edinburg, N.D., where she helped her family farm.

After graduation she moved to Grafton, N.D., where she worked for North Western Bell Telephone Company.

She married Wendell F. Sherek on June 23, 1967, at the St. John's Catholic Church in Grafton, N.D.

She worked in the local drug store in Oaks, N.D., and helped her husband working in the Anthony's Clothing Stores in Ellendale, N.D., and Oaks, N.D. They moved from Oaks, N.D., to Douglas in June 1987, to Lander in May 1988 and to Riverton in 1991.

Her family said she enjoyed crafts, being outdoors, traveling and doing yard work. She and her husband enjoyed attending Trinity Lutheran Church where they were members.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Wendell; four sisters, LaVonne Narlock and her husband Syl of Warren, Minn., Sandi Samuelson of Park River, N.D., Lynda Raumin and her husband Roger of Grafton, N.D., Judy Oswoski and her husband Tony of Minto, N.D.; two brothers-in-law, Bob Sherek and his wife Nancy of Chula Vista, Calif., and Roger Sherek of Grafton, N.D.; sister-in-law Pat Bellurd and her husband Darryl of Winlock, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main St., Riverton, WY 82501.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
