School board accepts Root's resignation

The Fremont County School District 25 Board of Trustees accepted the resignation Tues-day of board member Maris-sa Root, who has moved to Sheridan with her family, ac-cording to school officials.

Root served on the board twice, from 2000 to 2008 and from 201a0 to 2012.

With 30 days to fill her seat, board members said they will begin the process to replace Root immediately. Anyone interested in becoming a trustee should prepare a letter of interest including qualifications, a resume and a statement explaining why he or she wants to serve. The documents should be sent to Candace McCue at the District 25 office, 121 N. Fifth St. W., by 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.

Candidates must be residents of the district and 21 years of age or older. The applicant who is chosen to replace Root will serve as a trustee until December 2014, unless they run and are elected for another term.
