RHS band earns second in marching festival

Oct 26, 2012 - Staff

The Riverton High School marching band assembled at the base of the new flag pole at Wolverine Field before performing their state competition routine. The Marching Wolverines extended their top-flight record at the Wyoming State Marching Festival in Casper this month, earning second place. Riverton was one of six bands in the 17-school field to earn a rating of 1-Superior from judges and also received two "caption" awards for the individual performance elements of brass and drum major. Only Cheyenne East, with 1-Superior and three captions, posted a better score than Riverton's. Aric Hageman is the RHS director of bands. Lander Valley High School also competed, earning a 2-Excellent rating.
