Nov 4, 2012 - From staff reportsThe National Weather Service in Riverton, in conjunction with the Wyoming Department of Transportation, has developed a new route-by-route webcam display online.
The new website provides a quick look at all WyDOT webcams along a given interstate, U.S. highway, or state highway across Wyoming.
NWS Riverton lead forecaster Arthur Meunier designed the new page with the Wyoming traveler in mind.
Webcams along a selected travel route are provided as a thumbnail image for a quick view along the entire corridor.
Each webcam can also be viewed individually for a closer look at the road and weather conditions.
Chris Jones, warning coordination meteorologist at the River-ton office, said that initial feedback has been positive.
"People like that town and place names are provided along with the route number," Jones said.
"This makes selection much easier for the traveler, especially visitors from out of state.
"Many have mentioned how nice it is to have a quick glance at all webcams along their intended route," Jones continued.
To view the new travel webcam display, go online to http://ow.ly/eJT2s.
Feedback on the webcams display can be e-mailed to the NWS at firstname.lastname@example.org.
