Eight Cowgirl swimmers, three relays gain all-conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Eight University of Wyoming Cowgirl swimmers and three relay teams earned All-Mountain West swimming and diving honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Cowgirls Kelsey Conci, Morgan Hartigan and Jordan Denny led the Cowgirls with three individual all-conference selections, with Conci and Hartigan also earning relay honors.

To earn All-MW honors, an individual must have finished in the top eight and a relay team in the top in the top three at the MW Championships. Leading the Cowgirls in honors was senior Conci who was individually named all-conference in the 50-yard freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. She was also a member of the 200 freestyle, 200 medley and 400 medley relay all-conference teams. Sophomore Hartigan also earned three individual honors in the 200 individual medley and 100 and 200 breaststroke. Like Conci, she also was a member of all three all-conference relay squads. Freshman Denny was the third Cowgirl to earn three individual honors, garnering honors in the 200 backstroke, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Junior Jessy Badaracco earned all-MW honors in the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley. Badaracco also was a member of the 400 medley relay all-MW team. Redshirt freshman Claudia Carlson was also honored with two all-conference selections in the 100 and 200 butterfly. Earning one all-conference honor each were junior Meghan Swirzcki (200 breaststroke), as well as, sophomores Kasey Robinson (1650 freestyle) and Stephanie Young (100 breaststroke). Members of relay teams not earning individual honors were Shelby Bull (200 freestyle, 200 and 400 medley), Kenzie Hewson (200 freestyle) and Mackenzie Norlin (200 medley).
