Feb 28, 2012 - UW Sports InformationWyoming freshman forward Larry Nance Jr. has been voted one of eight finalists for Dunk of the Year on ESPN2. The finalists will compete in a fan voting competition over the next two weeks through the official Facebook page to determine the Dunk of the Year, which will be announced during ESPN2's Dunks of the Year special on March 26. Wyoming fans can vote for Nance Jr. until Monday, March 12, at www.facebook.com/DunksOfTheYear.
Nance's high-flying dunk late in the first half against then-No. 12 San Diego State is up for the honor and was also featured No. 1 on ESPN SportsCenter's top plays that night. Nance and Washington's Tony Wroten were the top vote getters during week three of the Dunk of the Year competition to advance to the finals.
Other finalists include Kentucky's Darius Miller and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Indiana's Victor Oladipo, Campbell's Eric Griffin, Memphis' D.J. Stephens and Xavier's Dez Wells.
