Nelson R. Burks, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 29, at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. Burial will be at a later date in Texas.
Jerome Dietz Sr., 88, of Riverton, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Wind River Health Care. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Mountain View Cemetery with military honors.
Conrad G. Flohr, 69, of Riverton, died Saturday, Dec. 1, at Riverton Memorial Hospital with his wife, Mary, by his side. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Linda Norris officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date in Kimball, Neb.
Michelle "Chellzy" Littleshield, 35, of St. Stephen's, died Monday, Dec. 3, near Kinnear. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. A rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec 6, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, with a wake starting at Eagle Hall and then moving to the family home at 1603 17 Mile Road. Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Linda J. Miller, 60, died Monday, Dec. 3, in the Help for Health Hospice Home.
William "Bill" T. Nightingale Jr., 83, formerly of Lander, died Saturday, Nov. 24, surrounded by family. Per his request, there will be no services.
Rex A. Petersen, 64, of Lander, died Sunday, Dec. 2, after a battle with cancer. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Wyoming Life Resource Center's Chapel. A reception will follow the services.
William M. "Bill" Shipp, 92, of Lander, died Thursday, Nov. 15, at Wind River Health Care in Riverton. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be at a later date.
Select Committee on Tribal Relations Meeting is Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 at the Joint Business Council Chambers, 15 North Fork Road, Fort Washakie. The purpose of the meeting is to consider issues relating to health care, utilities and infrastructure, tribal liaisons, law enforcement and crime reduction, juvenile justice and other issues that are of concern to citizens on and near the Wind River Indian Reservation. Conoco Phillips Christmas Party is 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the VFW, 1409 W. Main St., Riverton.
Festival of Trees Viewing is 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Fremont Center at the Fremont County Fairgrounds, 705 Fairgrounds Road, Riverton. Free viewing is 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children (children under 2 are free). Family is $15. Event includes refreshments, photos with Santa, a cake walk and face painting. "The Magdalen Whitewash" is at 7:30 p.m. at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre at Central Wyoming College, Riverton. The Valerie Goodwin play is about eight women who are sentenced to hard labor and harsh treatment at the Magdalen Asylum for getting pregnant out of wedlock. Set in the 1920s, the story is about the Irish "Maggies" and their struggle for human dignity and freedom.
In Fremont County Sheriff's Office reports Tuesday to Wednesday morning:
- Ashlee Bojaj, 28, of Lander, was arrested for contempt of court.
- Kelly Garcia, 45, of Casper, was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court.
- Richard Helm, 58, of Lander, was arrested for contempt of court.
- Johnnie Hutchings, 41, of Lander, was arrested on a warrant for bond violation at about 9:55 p.m. Tuesday at the Fremont County Courthouse in Lander.
- Alma Mosho, 33 of Fort Hall, Idaho, was arrested for two counts of aggravated homicide by vehicle.
- Christopher Stringer, 57, of Dubois, was arrested for driving under the influence, no valid driver's license and "driving road way laned for traffic" at about 10:35 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of West Ramshorn Street in Dubois.
