A son was born to Kristin and Chad Gaines, of Pinedale, at 3:28 p.m. Oct. 17, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces.


A son was born to Sharon Taylor and Jeremy Gilkey, of Riverton, at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 22, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces.


A daughter was born to Britnea and Kirk Hawker, of Riverton, at 3:49 a.m. Oct. 25, 2012, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces.


A son was born to Alexandra Watt and Andrew Herbig, of Lander, at 7:48 a.m. Oct. 28, 2012, at Lander Regional Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 0.05 ounces.



Ivan Roy Haggerty, 88, of Riverton, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Davis Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Davis Funeral Home. Memorials to the Shoshoni Alumni Scholarship Fund or an organization of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family.

"The Magdalen Whitewash" is at 7:30 p.m. at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre at Central Wyoming College, Riverton. The Valerie Goodwin play is about eight women who are sentenced to hard labor and harsh treatment at the Magdalen Asylum for getting pregnant out of wedlock.

Emergency calls

In Fremont County Sheriff's Office reports Wednesday to Thursday morning:

- Rick Richards, 40, of Lander, was arrested for bond violation at about 6:20 a.m. Thursday at the Fremont County Courthouse in Lander.

- The Fremont County Sheriff's Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Riverton and Lander police departments, will be conducting a countywide "saturation patrol" Saturday, Dec. 8. Multiple law enforcement officers will be patrolling state highways, county roads and city streets looking for people who may be driving under the influence.

The primary goal of the exercise is to deter people from drinking and driving by informing citizens that law enforcement will be out in large numbers throughout all areas of the county, looking strictly for those who are driving while impaired. The ultimate goal in this campaign is to have zero arrests countywide for drunk driving.

In Riverton Police Department reports Wednesday to Thursday morning:

- Kimberly Larson, 39, of Riverton, was arrested on a courtesy hold at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of East Washington Avenue.

- Adam Shelsta, 38, of Riverton, was arrested for voyeurism and violation of a protection order at about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of East Pine Street.

- Steven Lindsley, 21, of Lander, was arrested for driving under the influence, careless driving and driving while under suspension at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of North Federal Boulevard.

- Kenneth Shakespeare, 26, of Arapahoe, was arrested for public intoxication at about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of West Main Street.

- Nickerson Arthur, 32, of Riverton, was arrested for driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of .17 at about 1 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue. He also was arrested on two counts of resisting arrest and for no driver's license and no vehicle registration. With him was Lynn Tendor, 40, of Fort Washakie, and Adele Frank, 25, of Riverton, and both were arrested for contempt of court.
