Nelson R. BurksDec 7, 2012 - Staff Nelson R. Burks died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander. He was 89 years old. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. Burial will be at a later date in Texas. Nelson Ross Burks was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Baird, Texas. He was a Navy WWII veteran, serving in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Joan Burks; daughter Sherry McLennon and her husband Bob of Lander; grandson Robert McLennon and his wife Debbie of Grand Forks, N.D.; granddaughter Joanna Booth and her husband Dale of Livingston, Mont.; great-grandson Dalton; great-granddaughter Kodie Jo, of Livingston, Mont. |
