Mar 2, 2012 - By Carolyn B. Tyler, Staff Writer

Several staffing changes were made at the Riverton school board meeting Feb. 7, along with recognition of a Rendezvous Elementary School teacher and a Riverton High School athlete.

Debbie Johnson has been hired as a special education para-professional at Riverton High School, and Margaret Shaw has been hired as a para-professional in the behavior resource room at Aspen Park Elementary School.

Kim Krieger was offered a contract as an assistant high school track coach for the spring season, replacing Brian Tucker, whose resignation was accepted that night.

Other contracts offered were to Tawn Gopp and Jorah Griffith as co-head boys' and girls' track coaches.

Shawn Peck, a Rendezvous teacher, has been appointed to the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board.

Chade Hanson was awarded a Wyoming High School Activities Association Good Sportsmanship Award for his "exemplary conduct and good sportsmanship" during the Pinedale swim meet Jan. 28.

The board accepted a $286,174 Title II teacher/leader quality partnership grant at that meeting.

Nelson Architects LLC, of Riverton, was awarded the contract to design the concession stands and restroom facilities project at Wolverine Field.
