A daughter was born to Taryn and Garth Yeates Jr., of Hudson, at 3:33 a.m. Feb. 10, 2012, at Lander Regional Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounces.

JENKINS

Lloyd A. "Sonny" Jenkins, 60, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Burial follows at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery at St. Stephen's. Mr. Jenkins' body will lie in state at a wake from 5 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Great Plains Hall until the funeral time. NATION

Calvin Lewis Nation, 6-day-old son of Amber Jo and John William Nation, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at the Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. Memorials may be made in his parents' name at the Atlantic City Federal Credit Union.

SHERLOCK

Peter F. "Sonny" Sherlock, 72, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at his home on the Big Island of Hawaii. A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at the First Baptist Church in Lander. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Fremont County's Third Annual Hats Off for Hope Gala -- the Cattle Baron's Ball. During the event a presentation will be made to four Fremont County community cancer heroes and their caregivers. The awards are: in memory of a cancer hero who has died; an adult cancer patient, who is either amid treatment or is a survivor; a child cancer patient, who is amid treatment or is a survivor; and a person or group, who are caregivers to a cancer patient. Now We're Cookin!, Cent$ible Meals is 9 a.m. to noon in room 103 of the student center at Central Wyoming College, Riverton. The cost of food has risen sharply in the past year putting a pinch in many budgets. This workshop, sponsored by Children and Nutrition Services, will share tips and meal ideas that can help participants get more "bang for their buck" while providing healthful, satisfying meals.

Emergency calls

In Riverton police reports from Thursday to Friday morning:

- Kenneth Shakespeare, 26, Arapahoe, was arrested at 4:02 p.m. on Thursday in the 300 block of East Main Street for public intoxication.

- At 5:49 p.m. on Thursday in the 800 block of East Main Street, Dana Eagle, 35, of Riverton, was arrested for public intoxication.

In Fremont County Sheriff's reports from Thursday to Friday morning:

- Ruth SunRhodes, 30, of Arapahoe, was arrested for failure to appear.

- During the same time period, ambulance crews responded to 22 calls for service and firefighters were dispatched once.
