Jan 4, 2013 - StaffNadine E. Held died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at her home in Dubois, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 78 years old.
At her request no service will be held. A private celebration of her life will be held by family. Donations in her memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Nadine E. Held was born June 13, 1934, in Tacoma, Wash., the first of two children born to Harry and Elizabeth Mast.
Her family said she enjoyed her family and home. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, quilting, reading and looking for rocks and wild flowers. She was an active member with Epsilon Sigma Alpha International for 41 years, serving as president, secretary and treasurer.
They said she touched the lives of many and will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Cinda Cornwell and her husband Richard, Joy Brown and her husband Anthony, Woodson H. Held, Sherry Mitchell and her husband Dale, and Roxanne Plummer and her husband Richard; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Elizabeth Mast; sister Nelda Cano; beloved husband of 57 years, Woodie; and grandson Cody Mitchell.
