Students selling YUDA bands as service project

Jan 14, 2013 - From staff reports

The Shoshoni Student Council is selling YUDA bands, bracelets that are made in Guatemala and sold in the United States.

In addition to creating Guatemalan jobs, proceeds from selling the bands go toward scholarship funds for Guatemalan children.

The bands are $7 each and are made of carved pieces of coconut, leather and string. The coconut has various designs on it ranging from peace signs, to inspirational words, to Superman symbols.

The bracelets will be sold Jan. 14 to Jan. 25.
