Girls learn about self-improvement at CWCJan 29, 2013 - By Alejandra Silva, Staff Writer Manicures and curling hair were on the list of activities for the girls attending this year's Girls Day Out event, aimed at helping girls learn new things and build confidence. Soroptimist International of Riverton sponsored the third annual Girls Day Out event Saturday at Central Wyoming College. Other activities focus on sell defense and self esteem, along with makeover workshops. This year's "Be All You Can Be" theme provided girls with positive reinforcement and fun activities. "We think it's very important that girls have self esteem and that they have tools to make the right decisions," said Kay Keen, president of Soroptimist International of Riverton, "especially when they're young, because the decisions that they make when they're young can carry forward for the rest of their lives." |
