CHEYENNE -- Events on the 29th day of 2013 General Session of the Wyoming Legislature: Fri., Feb. 15:

BUDGET: Lawmakers approved a $78 million supplemental budget bill that also includes about $61 million in budget reductions. The bill goes to Gov. Matt Mead.

FUEL TAX: Gov. Matt Mead has signed into law a 10-cent-a-gallon increase in Wyoming's fuel tax. The tax hike will raise about $70 million a year mostly for road work after it takes effect on July 1.

EDUCATION REFORM: The state Senate passed an education accountability bill that would develop a system to measure the performance of teachers, superintendents, principals and other educators. House File 72 heads back to the state House for consideration of Senate changes.

BIBLE CLASSES: The Senate Education Committee endorsed on a 3-2 vote a bill that would make it clear Wyoming public high schools can offer elective biblical study courses. The bill now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
