Hanna-Elk Mountain ended the girls basketball season for Dubois in a 32-17 win during the "pigtail" game Monday afternoon at Bob Carey Memorial Fieldhouse. Dubois was playing without its top player, Rachelle Leseberg. The senior guard suffered a concussion Friday against Meeteetse and was forced to miss the game. Hanna plays at 2 p.m. Thursday in the opening round of the Class 1-A West regional tournament at LVHS against No. 1 seed Burlington. St. Stephen's enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed from the Northwest conference. St. Stephen's will face Little Snake River at 5:20 p.m. Thursday. The tournament is a double-elimination format. The semifinals are Friday afternoon. The title game is at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Hanna 32, Dubois 17 There was not a lot off offense from Dubois in the first half of Monday's game. Dubois scored three points in each of the first two periods as Hanna built an 18-6 lead. Dubois had its strongest quarter after the break, scoring eight points. Hanna also put in eight points. In the fourth quarter, Megan Murdoch hit a 3-pointer for the only points of the period. Dubois was 3-of-17 from the free throw line in the 15-point loss.
