UW's new president to visit campus and Laramie

LARAMIE -- Robert Sternberg will make his first visit to Laramie this week since being named the new University of Wyoming president.

Sternberg is scheduled to visit UW Monday and Tuesday. He will meet with university leaders, tour the campus and introduce himself to student and faculty representatives.

Sternberg currently serves as provost and senior vice president at Oklahoma State University.

He was nam Wyoming's 24th university president by the UW Board of Trustees on Feb. 26.

He will take office July 1, replacing Tom Buchana, who announced his retirement last year after eigght years in the president's office.

University officials say Stern-berg plans to travel around the rest of Wyoming to meet with various constituents and citizens later this year.
