JACKSON -- The Wyoming Game and Fish Department hold a public meeting Monday in Jackson about motorized watercraft regulations on the Snake River.
Motorboats on the river are now prohibited in Grand Teton National Park, but allowed south of the park to the West Table Boat Ramp in the Snake River canyon.
The agency has been getting calls from people who want motorized use restricted and people who are in favor of it.
State rig count down by three
HOUSTON -- Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc. says the number of rigs actively exploring for oil and natural gas in the U.S. fell by 30 this week to 1,746.
Of the major oil- and gas-producing states, only West Virginia posted a gain, up 1 rig. Texas dropped by 11, Pennsylvania six, Louisiana five, Oklahoma four, North Dakota and Wyoming three each, and Alaska and Colorado by one apiece. Arkansas, California and New Mexico were unchanged.
Inmate's DNA petitions released
CHEYENNE -- Acting in response to a request from The Associated Press, the district court clerk in Cheyenne has unsealed legal filings from a Wyoming inmate who maintains new DNA testing proves he's innocent of a rape charge for which he has served 23 years in prison.
