Inmates would benefit from AA and NA sessions

Apr 13, 2013 - Robert Joseph Sanistevan, Lander

Editor:

I am writing this letter in regard to the unavailability of programs and AA/NA meetings at the Fremont County Detention Center.

Not only do inmates need these meetings for help with personal issues, drug and alcohol abuse, and the need to share their stories, but it is also been court-ordered by the municipal judge.

I have been incarcerated here for six months and have not seen one meeting.

A lot of inmates here have been given extensive jail time, and I feel that the administration as well as the public, and more importantly, the courts, should be aware of this situation.

I am sure there are volunteers around Fremont County who are willing to come to the Fremont County detention Center to do meetings once a week for an hour. This is all that is needed.
