Apr 18, 2013 - From staff reportsThe Fremont County Sheriff's Office is investigating what appears to be a "random and dangerous criminal act" that took place just after midnight Thursday near the intersection of Bass Lake Road and Wyoming Highway 789.
According to reports, two people were in their recreational vehicle on Bass Lake Road when they heard a "pop" and the sound of glass breaking at about 12:10 a.m. Thursday. They went outside to check on their vehicle and reportedly saw that their windows had been "shot out."
Officials said the shot came from the direction of the highway. The bullet reportedly hit a utility trailer that was parked near the RV, passing through that structure to strike the couple's vehicle. The bullet reportedly shattered one window, continued through the front seat of the vehicle, then traveled out the back window.
No suspects have been identified at this point; anyone with information is urged to contact Fremont County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Bill Braddock at 857-3606.
