Donald O'Keefe Miller

Donald O'Keefe Miller died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He was 79 years old.

At his request, no services will be held and cremation has taken place.

Donald O'Keefe Miller was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., the son of Reginald C. and Helen M. (O'Keefe) Miller.

He graduated from Newcomb High School in Newcomb, N.Y., in 1951.

Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until he was honorably discharged in 1959.

He married Marla Jean Neill on July 6, 1957, in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

Mr. Miller worked for Bendix at the Kennedy Space Center during the Apollo and Sky Lab programs and was on all the backup launch teams. During this time he was able to meet President Richard Nixon and the astronaut John Young. In 1977, he began working for Church and Dwight until his retirement in 1993.

He and his family lived in New York for more than 30 years. They spent 10 years in Florida, 23 years in Green River and in 2000 moved to Riverton.

Mr. Miller was a member of the NRA and the American Legion Post 19.

His family said he enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and stargazing.

He is survived by his wife of Riverton; son Walter Reginald "Reggie" Miller and his wife Roberta of Riverton; daughter Denise Miller and her husband Edward Phillips of Green River; grandchildren Seneca and Donald Phillips and Kendra and Kellen Miller; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Walter Miller, and sister Margaret Norris.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tough Enough for Cancer Fund in care of Davis Funeral Home.
