Apr 26, 2013 - By Craig Blumenshine, Staff WriterRiverton hosts Casper KellyR00;Walsh at noon Saturday.
You have to do the small things right and, Thursday evening in Casper, the Riverton Lady Wolverines struggled to get those things done in a 5-1 Class 4-A West loss to the Casper Natrona Fillies (9-2-1, 7-1 Class 4-A West).
Natrona scored early in the eighth and 12th minutes and was ahead 4-0 before Rachel Graham, with an assist from Morgan Doyle, scored in the 54th minute to get Riverton on the scoreboard.
"It was the little mistakes on our part that gave them opportunities they took advantage of. We didn't close up the middle very well," Lady Wolverine head coach Tanya Santee said.
Riverton (3-5-1, 2-4 Class 4-A West) hosts Casper Kelly Walsh at noon Saturday at Wolverine Field.
"NC is the better of the two Casper schools, and I feel like we are fairly evenly matched with Kelly Walsh. We need to play hard and physical," Santee said.
Following Saturday's match, the Lady Wolverines will close out their home season against Rock Springs. The Monday evening varsity match will begin at 5 p.m. with seniors Karissa Kister, Vanessa Nells and Baylee Stafford slated to be recognized before the match.
