May 1, 2013 - From staff reportsOfficials are investigating a report of two black border collies attacking and killing at least one sheep Monday in the 1600 block of North Smith Road in Riverton.
"They were harassing the sheep, and one of the dogs is alleged to have reportedly killed one of the animals," Fremont County Sheriff's Capt. Ryan Lee said Tuesday. "We don't have any suspects."
Ed Fowler was listed as the complainant at about 12:45 p.m. Monday. He reported that one of his ewes was killed in the incident, and he described one of the dogs as wearing a red collar.
At about 1 p.m. Monday a resident on Rabbit Lane in Riverton called to report a black and tan Chihuahua on her property that "tried to kill her chickens." The animal had since run home, and the woman gave officials the name of the person who may own the dog.
