May 12, 2013 - From staff reportsHarvey Charles Rodgers of Riverton died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Morning Star Manor in Fort Washakie.
He was 89 years old.
There will be no services, and cremation has taken place.
Harvey Charles Rodgers was born March 2, 1924, in Bassett, Neb., the son of Charles H. and Maggie V. (Kops) Rodgers.
He attended a country school until the eighth grade and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On June 3, 1946, he married Mary Lou Litz in Ainsworth, Neb.
The couple lived in Bassett, Neb., until 1957. They lived in Ainsworth, Neb., until 1960, when the family moved to Gas Hills. They only lived there for six months before moving to Jeffrey City, where they stayed for 11 months before moving to Riverton in 1961, where they remained.
His family said he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, of Riverton; daughters Cheryl Lou Stover and her husband Dean of Green River, and Sally Sue Stover and her husband Rodney of Riverton; grandchildren Duane Dean Stover of Rock Springs, Steven Todd Stover and his wife Heidi of Green River, Sherri Sue Bass and her husband Jim of Casper, and Robert Dale Stover and his wife Shannon of Riverton; great-grandchildren Troy Andrew Bass of Casper, Brian Christopher Bass of Casper, Brandy Lee Stover of Green River, Tori Ann Stover of Green River, Trent Warren Stover of Riverton, Rhett Daniel Stover of Riverton, Xavier Dean Stover of Lander, and Kyle Dean Stover of Green River.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Roy and Harry Rodgers; sisters Mae and Opal; and an infant brother.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
