In opening-round state tournament play in Rock Springs Thursday afternoon, Laramie (11-4-1) beat Riverton (8-6-2) 2-0 to advance to Friday's semifinal game against the winner of the Cheyenne Central vs. Kelly Walsh match.
Riverton falls to consolation play and will challenge the loser of the Cheyenne Central vs. Kelly Walsh match Friday at 11 a.m.
In other first round games, Gillette smashed Casper Natrona 5-0 and Sheridan beat Rock Springs 2-0. In the first three tournament games, the East has dominated the West in Class 4-A.
