United Presbyterian hosting run/walk and volunteer drive

May 17, 2013 - By Andrea Novotny, Staff Writer

The United Presbyterian Church in Riverton is hosting its first Good Samaritan Run, Walk and Volunteer Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 1101 N. Broadway Ave.

The event will benefit six guest organizations, including Abbas House, the Christian Food Store, Fremont County Group Home, Friends of the Library, Help for Health, and the Riverton Animal Adoption Shelter. Each of these organizations will have a station where participants can learn more about the organization and how to contribute or become a volunteer.

The event also includes a one mile run/walk that will begin at 11 a.m., a free chili lunch at noon and a cake walk at 1 p.m. Participants can donate groceries, canned cat food, diapers or a monetary gift to the guest organizations to register for the one mile walk and cake walk.

The first person to cross the finish line will receive a $25 prize.
