May 26, 2013 - StaffClifford W. Henry of Riverton died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He was 87 years old.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Echo Klaproth will officiate.
Clifford Waldo Henry was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Colony, Kan., the son of Carl and Nancy Florence (Blanchard) Henry. He was an only child. He spent his early childhood in Kansas before moving to Fremont County in 1935, where his father received a homestead. He graduated from Morton High School.
He was a farmer, having farmed in Johnstown Valley and the Kinnear and Pavillion areas.
He worked in the oilfield for Continental Oil Company before becoming a full-time farmer.
On May 23, 1946, he married Leitha Achey in Riverton. Together they had three sons.
On Oct. 7, 1972, he married Lois E Beckmann-Vogel in Riverton.
He was a lifetime member of the Riverton Eagles and also was a member of the Good Sam's Club-Meadowlark.
He loved to visit family and travel in his camper all over the United States. Along with the camping adventures, he panned for gold and belonged to the Gold Prospectors Club in Wyoming.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of Riverton; sons Gene Henry and his wife Diana of Cheyenne, Robert Henry and his wife Loretta of Crestview, Fla., and Gary Henry and his wife Beth of Riverton; stepdaughters Linda Vogel of Riverton and Kathy Vogel-Glassock and her husband Gary of Bellville, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, including Corey Henry and his wife Nichole, Stacie Koch and her husband Mike and Carrie Henry, all of Riverton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nancy; stepdaughter Joan Vogel; and great-granddaughter McKenzie Hanger.
