May 31, 2013 - By Craig Blumenshine, Staff WriterWith a favorable weather forecast predicted, the Dash for Cash, a 5K run and walk event sponsored by P.E.O. takes place Saturday.
Money raised from the event will provide scholarship opportunities for local young women.
The race will begin and end at Teton Athletic Club, 911 Flag Drive, in Riverton.
Same-day registration for the event is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. according to event organizers. There is a registration fee of $20 and includes a T-shirt.
A cash prize of $25 will be awarded to the winners of each men's and women's under-30 and over-30 division. A $15 second place prize also will be awarded in the same divisions, and drawings will be held for additional cash awards and other prizes.
Last year, approximately 50 runners and walkers participated in the event.
Martha Lange is the president of the AP chapter of P.E.O., the event's sponsor.
