Jun 5, 2013 - By Andrea Novotny, Staff Writer

Lander also will play host to a rugby match and pancake breakfast Saturday.

The 12th annual Brew Fest begins at 5 p.m. Friday at the soccer fields near Lander Valley High School, 400 Baldwin Creek Road.

The event lasts until 9 p.m. the first day and will continue 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Brew Fest 2013, organized by the Lander Chamber of Commerce, allows breweries from around the Rocky Mountain west to gather in one place and provide tastings and sales of their beer.

This year's competition brew is stout. Judges will pick the best brew while attendees vote for their favorites.

The festivities will begin with music by Red Dangit, a band originally from Lander, followed by Jon Wayne and The Pain at 7 p.m. Saturday's lineup includes The Congress followed by Patti Fiasco. Both bands also are from Wyoming.

The Central Wyoming Speedgoat Rugby Club match-up tournament begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at the high school soccer fields, and the Lander Kiwanis will host a pancake breakfast Saturday in the parking lot of Ace Hardware to raise money for Little League baseball.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be sold both days at the event.

Tickets for this year's Brew Fest are $30 for a one-day pass, and $50 for a two-day pass. Riders in the Fremont Area Road Tour will receive a $10 discount.

Tickets can be purchased at the Lander Chamber of Commerce, 160 N. First St., at the Brew Fest website, www.landerbrewfest.com, and at the gate.

Fremont Toyota and the Visions Program at Wyoming Life Resource center will provide free transportation from the Lander Brew Fest to any destination in Lander.

Pets will not be allowed at Brew Fest.
