Jun 5, 2013 - StaffRoberta (Bobbie) Jean Hewitt died unexpectedly Monday, May 27, 2013, at her home in Lander. She was 46 years old.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Church of the Nazarene in Lander. Cremation has taken place.
Roberta (Bobbie) Jean Hewitt was born Dec. 9, 1966, in Thermopolis, the daughter of James Dean Hart and Ida Ethel (Todd) Hart.
She attended school in Emblem for three years until the school closed, and then she attended school in Greybull. In 1979, after the death of her father, the family moved to Thermopolis. She attended school there until she moved to California her senior year. She graduated from Fullerton High School in 1986.
In 1994 she moved to Lander and married James (Jim) Robert Hewitt on Jan. 5, 1995. Her only child, Andrew James Hewitt, was born July 16, 1997.
Mrs. Hewitt was a self-employed housekeeper and worked for many families and business in Lander. Her family said she enjoyed working for older clients and helping them with things they could no longer do for themselves.
Her family said she liked to spend her free time fishing and camping in the mountains, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed being with her son and nieces and nephews and being involved in their activities. She also liked to keep in touch with her many friends from her childhood. She loved animals and had a soft spot in her heart for orphans and was eager to help raise them.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; son Andrew; mother Ida Hart; sister Ruth Mahan and her husband Rodney and their children Ty, Crista and Brea and great-nephew Mason all of Casper; sister-in-law Connie Murray and her husband Richard and their children Candra, Zachary, Dustin and his wife Rebecca, Jessica and Jolene, and their children LaQuisha and Hunter Buffalo, and Courtney Derby all of Lander; aunts and uncles Will Munnell of Lander, Jim and Ruth Munnell of Riverton, and Herb and Janice Hewitt of Lander; and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, James, and all of her grandparents.
Services are under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.
