Jun 7, 2013 - Gene Hauck, RivertonEditor:
On the evening of May 25 at about 11 p.m., my granddaughter was driving south North Eighth West in Riverton. As she approached the intersection of Webbwood Road, a vehicle going west on Webbwood ran the stop sign and collided with my granddaughter's vehicle.
The impact pushed her off into the west borrow pit. The driver of the other vehicle but sped off, leaving the scene of the accident.
Because it was dark, my granddaughter didn't get a very good description of the vehicle that hit her, other than it was a pickup truck with a grille guard. Probably an older model.
The truck probably incurred some damage to the grille and passenger side. Some red paint from her vehicle might be evident on the truck.
Other than some possible after effects such as stiffness soreness, our granddaughter is to be OK.
Anyone with information about this matter, please call police department. There is a $100 reward for information leading to the driver of this truck.
