Jun 9, 2013 - StaffJoe Lasley died Saturday, June 1, 2013, in Phoenix, where he moved in June 2012 to be close to his son and daughter.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix.
Joe Lasley was born April 9, 1938, in Springfield, Colo.
He lived most of his life in Riverton, working for 20 years at the Pathfinder Mines in Gas Hills. He later worked for BTI Transportation in Riverton, and he drove more than 1 million miles through the course of his career.
After retirement he moved to Cheyenne where he lived for several years.
His family said his greatest joy was spending time with his family, and he liked to hunt, camp and fish.
He is survived by his children, Scott Lasley, Virginia Lasley, Sam Lasley and Rena Lasley; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Lasley; daughter Robin Nass; and grandson Brandon Lasley.
