SHERIDAN --A driver who crashed into a Sheridan Starbucks, demolishing a corner of the building, said he began to lose consciousness and lost control of his vehicle moments before he slammed into the coffee shop, police said Friday.

Jerome Hunter, 60, told police he began to black out just before the 6 a.m. Thursday crash. Police are still investigating the incident.

Hunter was released from Sheridan Memorial Hospital after being treated for minor abrasions. A lone customer inside the building and Starbucks employees were not hurt.
