Jun 11, 2013 - By Katie Roenigk, Staff WriterOfficials said one person is in custody in connection with a possible homicide that took place Sunday morning at a home on the Wind River Indian Reservation.
The incident resulted in the death of a man whose age, identity and place of residence have not yet been released.
Information about the suspect in custody also was not available Tuesday.
Emergency medical personnel responded at about 7:40 a.m. Sunday to reports of a stabbing at an address that was redacted from law enforcement reports. The victim reportedly had been stabbed multiple times. He was pronounced dead at Riverton Memorial Hospital, and officials said his body was sent to Loveland, Colo., on Monday for autopsy.
At about 1:10 p.m. Sunday, the Wind River Police Department requested help from the Fremont County Sheriff's Office in locating the "girlfriend of the homicide victim" on Snowberry Lane north of Riverton. According to reports, the WRPD was trying to gain entry to a residence there and thought the woman may have been assaulted as well.
