Lander Valley High School junior Shanda Post averaged double digits in scoring and rebounding and has been named to the Class 3-A all-state girls basketball roster.

Post was No. 1 in scoring in the Class 3-A West conference at 17.5 points per game. She was No. 2 in rebounding, pulling in 11 per game.

Post also was No. 1 in the conference in assists (3.7) and steals (4.9). She was the only LVHS player to be named to the all-state squad.

Lander's Kristi Ragan earned a spot on the Class 3-A West conference team with Post.

Ragan was No. 2 scoring in the conference (15.1 points per game) and assists (3.3).

Ragan graduates in May, while Post will have one more year left at LVHS.

The LVHS pair of Tanner Simpson and Lucas Watkins claimed a spot on the Class 3-A all-state list.

"We were one of the few teams that had two players all-state," LVHS coach Terry Hopkin said.

Watkins is second in the Class 3-A West conference in rebounding (8.6). The 6-foot-7 center finished sixth in scoring (13.0).

"Lucas is a strong inside player," Hopkin said. "He had a lot of rebounds for us."

Austin Roberts, Simpson and Watkins were on the Class 3-A West conference team.

"Austin was really close to making all-state," Hopkin said.

Roberts was No. 3 in the conference in assists (3.2). He averaged 1.7 turnovers a game.

Watkins, a junior, is the only player coming back next year of the three.

"Lucas needs to focus on rebounding," Hopkin said. "His stats were pretty close to a year ago. He needs to start getting more offensive and defensive rebounds. If he does that, then I think that he will be a real force for us."
