Jun 12, 2013 - By Alejandra Silva, Staff WriterThe annual Wyoming Association of Municipalities convention began today in Riverton and will last until Saturday, providing workshops on a variety of topics to help Wyoming's city leaders more effectively perform their duties.
Registration will continue all day Wednesday, when a Wyoming Association of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers meeting will run from 12-5 p.m at Riverton City Hall.
Sessions to encourage sharing and learning will continue Thursday with a committee meeting 8-10 a.m. relating to the proposed legislative program for next year's Wyoming Legislative Session.
Additionally, teen service projects, kids programs, teen delegate workshop and exhibits will be on display at City Hall and at Riverton High School.
The convention will conclude with a WAM executive board meeting Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the auditorium at Central Wyoming College.
Workshop topics will include being an effective leader, tools for communities to reach their goals, first-time delegates and mentoring, maintaining the public trust, and managing and improving interest based negotiations, sewer rates, employee behavior, and law enforcement in small towns.
