Jun 19, 2013 - StaffLarry H. Grant died Monday, June 10, 2013, at his home in Dubois. He was 59 years old.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Larry Grant was born Sept. 20, 1953, in Belfast, Maine, the son of Clifton E. and Phyllis I. (Reynolds) Grant.
He graduated high school in Thorndike, Maine, in 1971.
He and his wife, Connie Wood, had been together since 1996.
Mr. Grant ran his own logging business in Maine for most of his life. He and his wife moved to Dubois after they visited the area during a vacation to Yellowstone. From 1996 to 2007, the couple owned and operated Connie's Cooking and Catering in Dubois.
His family said he loved working in the woods, anything that had to do with trains, and watching old movies and Westerns. He had a great memory and was good at trivia, especially trivia about music, which he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, of Dubois; son Scott Grant of Brooks, Maine; daughters Holly Grant of Florida and Amy Grant of Dubois; his parents; brother Ralph Grant; sister Gloria Orcutt; and several nieces and nephews, all of Maine.
