Mar 20, 2012 - StaffRobert L. Anderson, 92, of Riverton, died Friday, March 16, 2012, after a short illness.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, north of Rock Springs.
Robert Lee Anderson was born July 18, 1919, in Litchfield, Neb., to Beulah and Emil Anderson. He grew up helping on the family farm and graduated from Sherman County High School in Litchfield in 1937.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific and was honorably discharged.
He met Leatrice Zlomke, and they married in 1946 in Litchfield.
They moved to Riverton where Mr. Anderson worked for Pacific Power and Light Co. until his retirement in 1981.
After retirement, Mr. Anderson traveled extensively with his second wife Donna Schultz of Rock Springs.
His family said Mr. Anderson loved woodworking, the outdoors, the Wyoming Cowboys, golfing, animals and especially his dog, Molly, who was by his side until recently.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shrine Club.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Donna Schultz of Rock Springs; his son, Michael and wife of Riverton; daughter Rebecca Laib of Portland, Ore.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gerald Anderson, and son Robert Anderson.
