John D. White Feather died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Sloan Hospital in Denver. He was 45 years old.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Great Plains Hall in Arapahoe with Catholic clergy officiating and burial following at St. Stephen's Cemetery. A rosary and wake will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Great Plains Hall in Arapahoe. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Catholic Cemetery.
John Daniel White Feather was born July 23, 1967, in Chicago, the son of the late Ann Dodge and Gus White Feather.
He was raised on the Wind River Indian Reservation. He attended schools in Arapahoe, graduated from Riverton High School in 1985 and attended Central Wyoming College.
He worked as a truck driver, a laborer, a juvenile probation officer with youth services, and a consultant for the tribal law and order code.
His family said he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors and around his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Antonia White Feather; sons Isaac Sitting Eagle and Jared Underwood; sisters Christine Lott, Maria Delgado, Patsy Lawson, Jessica Lawson, Cathy Dodge and Michaela Dodge; brothers Mike Monroe, Robert Monroe, Clinton Monroe, Brian Dodge, Matthew Lawson and Kent Carpenter; five grandchildren; grandparents Patsy Lieuallen and Albert Dodge; aunts Cynthia Dodge, Rose Dodge, Winnie Dodge, Huberta Dodge, Cora Dodge and Veronica Lawson; uncles George Dodge, Delbert Dodge, David Dodge, Albert Dodge Jr. and Paul Lawson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Bernadette Jenkins; grandfather Dan Dodge; aunts Marcella Monroe, Edna Dodge and Rosemary Dodge; and uncles Robert Monroe Jr. and Dan Dodge Jr.
Services are provided by Wind Dancer Funeral Home.
