RMH to host discounted health fair, lab screening

The Riverton Memorial Hospital will host a discounted health fair and lab screenings 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. July 8 through July 12 at the Fremont Center of the Fremont County Fairgrounds.

Tests offered include chemistry screens for $25, complete blood counts for $10, hemoglobin A1C tests for $25, and prostate-specific antigen tests for $25.

Patients having a chemistry screen are advised not to consume any food or beverages except water and prescribed medicines for at least 12 hours before the test. Patients with diabetes should follow a physician's instructions regarding fasting.

Lab results will be mailed roughly one week after the test.

Physician evaluation of results are not offered this year.

Appointments are recommended and can be made by calling 857-3417. Walk-ins will be accepted after clients with appointments. Walk-in wait times may exceed one hour.

The hospital accepts cash or check, but cannot bill insurance.
